I decided that the magazine would be the best option for my project. Print journalism really gives an interest in me with the many different styles and designs that magazines have. I believe that a magazine would be a good idea because it would be easiest to work with so wee did not need any equipment to handle or work with. Magazines target one specific group of audiences and inspire and engage their readers on the topic chosen in the magazine. My group decided that we were going to choose the food genre and make a magazine based off of different recipes and dishes that can be made. I think that the food topic is a good is a genre for our magazine because I enjoy learning about cooking and different recipes. I also work in a restaurant so it helps me be able to interview people within the restaurant and food business as well as getting a variety amount of pictures to take for the magazine. I would be able to have an interview with the chef in the restaurant and him explain how the foo...

I believe that it would be a bad choice to do a movie as the project for the group. For a movie, we have to consider where the movie should take place, the wardrobe, the lighting, and many more. The main conflict that my group would have is that we do not have enough equipment to create a movie. Another main conflict is the time, it would be very difficult with my other teammates to have a set time period and day to start filming because of either family events, work, volunteering, etc. I enjoy more of the set up for a magazine more than filming, I enjoy having the interviews and researching rather than filming for a movie. Although, making a movie could be more entertaining and you get time to get to know your teammates better. We would have to think more creatively and out of the box to create a storyline and genre we would want for the movie. Making a movie would be different and would challenge me to get into the field of directing, filming, and/or acting.

I think that a magazine would be a good choice for my group for the project because I enjoy print journalism and the process of making a magazine intrigues us. Magazines usually target one specific group of audiences and inspire and engage their readers on the topic chosen in the magazine. Throughout all of first quarter, I have been exposed to many different styles and forms of magazines and they have given me many ideas on what I would like to do for my magazine project. I believe that I would enjoy finding a topic to concentrate on while making a magazine and go through the research and interview process. I think the magazine project would be the best choice for my group. The magazine seems to be easier to handle and work on rather than the movie. With the magazine, we would be able to work on at any given time; however, with the movie, my group would have to be together at a certain place and time and we would have to consider the lighting and wardrobe and setting, etc.
